Overview<\/h2>\n

The Maintain Product<\/strong> window is used to create and maintain the general information associated with a product in bizwizIQ\u00ae Order Manager.<\/p>\n

A product represents the main item being sold and may contain multiple Product Details representing its individual variations.<\/p>\n

For example, a product named Polar Camel 22 oz. Skinny Tumbler<\/em> may contain separate Product Details for red, blue, black, and other available colors.<\/p>\n

Each Product Detail will have its own SKU, pricing, inventory settings, and image.<\/p>\n

General Product Information<\/h2>\n

The upper section of the Maintain Product window contains the following fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Field<\/th>\nDescription<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
Name<\/td>\nName used to identify the product.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Status<\/td>\nCurrent status of the product.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Type<\/td>\nClassification of the product, such as Finished.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Family<\/td>\nProduct Family assigned to the product.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Supplier<\/td>\nSupplier associated with the product.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Volume Discount<\/td>\nSupplier volume discount schedule assigned to the product.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Product Family<\/h3>\n

The Family<\/strong> field assigns the product to a Product Family.<\/p>\n

Product Families help organize products and define workflow and scheduling information.<\/p>\n

When a product is added to an order, the task workflow assigned to its Product Family is used to assign the appropriate production tasks.<\/p>\n

The estimated person minutes associated with the Product Family can also be used for production scheduling.<\/p>\n

Supplier<\/h3>\n

The Supplier<\/strong> field identifies the supplier associated with the product.<\/p>\n

Select the appropriate supplier from the available list.<\/p>\n

Volume Discount<\/h3>\n

The Volume Discount<\/strong> field identifies the supplier volume discount schedule associated with the product.<\/p>\n

Select the appropriate schedule when supplier volume discounts apply.<\/p>\n

General Ledger Category<\/h2>\n

The General Ledger Category section contains two fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Field<\/th>\nDescription<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
Category<\/td>\nGeneral ledger category associated with the product, such as Product Sales.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Sub Category<\/td>\nMore specific classification within the general ledger category, such as Drinkware.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

These classifications help organize product information for accounting and reporting purposes.<\/p>\n

Additional Product Options<\/h2>\n

Taxable?<\/h3>\n

Select Taxable?<\/strong> to identify the product as taxable.<\/p>\n

Applicable sales taxes are determined by the tax settings configured in Order Manager.<\/p>\n

Specialty Costing?<\/h3>\n

The Specialty Costing?<\/strong> checkbox is used to identify products that require salesperson compensation tracking.<\/p>\n

When enabled, this option is used to track products sold by a salesperson and the percentage of the sale the salesperson is entitled to receive.<\/p>\n

Specialty Costing operates independently of the Commissionable setting found in Maintain Product Detail.<\/p>\n

Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A salesperson sells a product for $200 and is entitled to receive 10% of the sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

In this example, the salesperson receives $20.00 based on the assigned percentage.<\/p>\n

Product Information Tabs<\/h2>\n

The Maintain Product window contains several tabs used to organize product information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

CA Prop 65 Warning<\/td>\nMaintain California Proposition 65 warning information.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Waiver<\/td>\nMaintain waiver information associated with the product.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Managing Product Details<\/h2>\n

Select the Details<\/strong> tab to view the individual Product Details assigned to the product.<\/p>\n

For example, a tumbler product may contain separate Product Details for each available color.<\/p>\n

Adding a Product Detail<\/h2>\n

  1. Select the Details<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n
  2. Click New<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. The Maintain Product Detail window opens.<\/li>\n
  4. Enter the description, SKUs, pricing, and other applicable information.<\/li>\n
  5. Click Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Modifying a Product Detail<\/h2>\n

    1. Select the Product Detail from the list.<\/li>\n
    2. Click Modify<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. Update the necessary information.<\/li>\n
    4. Click Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Duplicating a Product Detail<\/h2>\n

      The Duplicate function simplifies creating another variation of an existing product.<\/p>\n

      For example, a red tumbler can be duplicated to create a blue tumbler.<\/p>\n

      1. Select the Product Detail to duplicate.<\/li>\n
      2. Click Duplicate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      3. Change the description, SKUs, image, and any other applicable information.<\/li>\n
      4. Save the new Product Detail.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Deleting a Product Detail<\/h2>\n
          \n
        1. Select the Product Detail.<\/li>\n
        2. Click Delete<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        3. Follow the confirmation prompts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Use caution when deleting Product Details associated with existing orders or inventory transactions.<\/p>\n

          Saving Product Information<\/h2>\n

          Click Save<\/strong> to save changes to the product.<\/p>\n

          Click Cancel<\/strong> to exit without saving the current changes.<\/p>\n
