Overview
The Maintain Product window is used to create and maintain the general information associated with a product in bizwizIQ® Order Manager.
A product represents the main item being sold and may contain multiple Product Details representing its individual variations.
For example, a product named Polar Camel 22 oz. Skinny Tumbler may contain separate Product Details for red, blue, black, and other available colors.
Each Product Detail will have its own SKU, pricing, inventory settings, and image.
General Product Information
The upper section of the Maintain Product window contains the following fields.

The estimated person minutes associated with the Product Family can also be used for production scheduling.
See Product Families for additional information.

The Supplier field identifies the supplier associated with the product.
Select the appropriate supplier from the available list.

Additional Product Options
Taxable?
Select Taxable? to identify the product as taxable.
Applicable sales taxes are determined by the tax settings configured in Order Manager.
Specialty Costing?
The Specialty Costing? checkbox is used to identify products that require salesperson compensation tracking.
When enabled, this option is used to track products sold by a salesperson and the percentage of the sale the salesperson is entitled to receive.
Specialty Costing operates independently of the Commissionable setting found in Maintain Product Detail.
Example:
A salesperson sells a product for $200 and is entitled to receive 10% of the sale.
| Description | Amount |
|---|---|
| Product Selling Price | $200.00 |
| Salesperson Percentage | 10% |
| Salesperson Compensation | $20.00 |
In this example, the salesperson receives $20.00 based on the assigned percentage.
